Explore without an account

Career pages, activities and guides remain available without signing in. Saved careers, checkmarks and reflection notes stay in this browser’s local storage. They are not sent to the forum database. Quiz answers and the private interest map are processed on your device. Anyone using your browser profile may see your notebook; use “Clear my notebook” to remove it.

Community account information

When you sign up, we store your email, account type, age in years, an assigned screen name, verification and approval status, and account creation time. We do not ask for your date of birth or real name. Student accounts also store a parent or guardian email and approval time. We use this information for sign-in, access to the correct forum, parent approval and community moderation. Your email and age are not shown to forum members.

Email verification and parent approval

MailerSend processes recipient email addresses and transactional messages to deliver sign-in codes and student approval requests from vivek@thinkelution.com. We disable email open and click tracking in these requests. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes; approval links expire after 7 days. Expired requests are periodically removed. Student accounts still awaiting approval after 30 days are removed during routine cleanup.

Conversations and moderation

We store discussions, replies, selected interest and career connections, reports and moderation decisions. Approved contributions are visible to signed-in members of the same forum and authorized moderators. Pending contributions are visible to the author and moderators. Parents manage student approvals but do not automatically have access to student discussions. Do not include identifying or sensitive personal information in posts.

Cookies, hosting and retention

A secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. The database stores a hash of its token. We retain account information and posts while your account exists; you can delete them from My account. Abuse prevention stores hashed rate-limit identifiers for short periods, and moderation audit records record decisions and account IDs rather than email addresses. The hosting server and Cloudflare may process IP addresses and ordinary request logs to serve and protect the site. Fonts load from Google Fonts. We use no advertising trackers.

Your choices and parent controls

Download account information and contributions or permanently delete your account from My account. Deleting a discussion also deletes its replies. Parents who sign in with the approving email can withdraw approval, pausing student access and hiding their posts. Deleting a parent account also withdraws its student approvals. Contact us to correct an age or account type or to request assistance. Server backups may retain deleted information for up to 30 days.

A future interest graph

Forum tags help organize conversations. They are not used to create a public individual profile, ability score or societal interest dataset. Shared analytics and interest graphs remain future work requiring separate choices and a revised notice.
